OPEN: Park Slope Farm
F-I-N-A-L-L-Y.
Park Slope Farm, the new bodega (ish) on 7th between Union and President, is open for business. BOO YA!
Anyone who lives on our side of the N. Slope hood knows that we were in dire straits for a place like this, espesh with the ongoing suckitude of Ace Supermarket.
Park Slope Farm is open 24/7 and stocks all your average bodega necessities. They have a very generous produce section, a decent refrigerated area with cheeses, milk, eggs, etc (even some tofu shit for you veggies), and a small dry goods area that has all the basic necessities.
I *was* slightly disappointed with their ice cream selection (that's sort of my #1 bodega item purchase), but they did just open and I'm so fucking happy they're here, I'm gonna let it slide.
Sidenote: its really nice and cheery in there! They have those fake wood floors and, used brightly colored paints. It's actually fun, slash not at all scary, to shop there (by comparison, Ace Supermarket makes me immediately sucicidal and/or woefully depressed).
See you every other night, Park Slope Farm! (when I run out of Diet Coke AGAIN).

I don't do 7th Avenue. And besides, what about Garfield Apple Market?
Does Y&B count? That's only a block away. Totally reliable goods, fair-ish prices (for a bodega), and I've never gotten sick from their sushi, even the week I had it every night 4 days in a row.
24 hours has a nice ring to it, though. Especially when I'm hopping off the B67 at 9:30 pm after getting screwed working late late hours and don't want to deal with the final rush at the co-op (or the attitudes).
Oh I don't know ... the 24/7ness is awesome, for sure. But the creepiness of the place? The workers all wear matching uniforms -- HOODIES!
I like ACE, all the awesome people who own/work there, and the great beer selection. The prices are really fair, too.
To above commenter, yeah I was a co-op member for 5 years before I threw in the towel on the crazies. So I bodega shop now, and love it that what was a shitty Chinese restaurant turned into a potentially great shop. Hell at least they're not selling baby clothes! But it's still only about 30 percent going to make up for the shuttering of SuperSavers across the street!
PARK SLOPE HAS A SERIOUS SHORTAGE OF SMOOTHIE PLACES.
I thought when I saw that place going up it was going to be some kind of juice bar thingie. I was so excited until I read this post.
Are people really so lazy they can't walk 2 blocks to Carroll/7th? Sigh.
What's their phone number? I'm home sick and there is finally a place that delivers! They need a killer website so people will take advantage of buying lots of stuff all night long...
