FIPS Cares [Shocking, But True]
One of the coolest (and most unexpected side effects) of starting this blahg, has been the awesome little, ginuwine community that we have inadvertently started to cobble together over here. And not to get all HRC on your asses, but she was on to something: it does take a village blah, blah, blah.
Anyway, we came up with a nifty idea, and now we need your help.
Using the tried and tested principles of craigslist (i.e. keep it VERY simple), and the tried and tested principles of, well, every fucking non-profit organization in existence, we wanna start using our resources as a community to help you tackle your issues...one person at a time. Crowdsource style.
Basically, if you have a problem/issue/challenge/dilemma, we wanna help you solve it.
Now this doesn't mean that you have to be in some sort of catastrophic, life or death sitch (we hope you're not...but if you are, that doesn't eliminate you either). Really, we just want to experiment with seeing what happens when one of us steps up and says "I need help with X,Y,Z." Cause we think (and *hope*) that we could probs all tap into our resources and solve problems, one-at-a-time like this, pretty damn easily.
What sorts of problems are we talking about? ALL kinds! Big ones, small ones, romantic ones, neighborhood ones....we want to tackle it all.
Like, for example:
* You need a job
* You need a job, but you don't care about getting one, so you need help caring
* You have an idea for a business but don't know where to start
* You met someone online but they live in Hamburg and you wanna go visit but you don't have enough money and you are afraid they might be a fucking lunatic
* You need a new weed dealer
* You just moved here and you have no friends
* You can't stand the thought of being alone on Valentine's Day
* You're dying to take mandolin lessons but don't know where to go to get em
* You've been waiting to see Notorious for two years and on the day the movie comes out, your husband gets the flu
We don't know!? What the fuck are your issues??
Send us an email, tell us what your prob is and then we'll see if we (and the FIPS community-at-large) can help you solve it.
