Sunset Park Sounds Dee-Lightful
Posted by: Erica | Friday, November 28, 2008 at 4:05PM
Uhm, do you think Sunset Park is pissed about the fact that out of the top 5 reasons Metro suggests that people should live there:
*1-2 are all about Costco.
*3 involves getting a lapdance.
*4 is about 18 wheelers parking on 39th street.
*and 5 is about cheap rents.
?

The article isn't referring to all of Sunset Park, it's about one specific block. Do you think Park Slope pissed about the fact that its bloggers have poor reading comprehension skills?
Wow, anonymous...a little touchy?
Some of us like Costco and lapdances, so its all good (where else can you go for a $1.50 hot dog dinner?).
Just relax.
Like Mike said, just relax Johny Literal cause I don't really think your comprehension skills are all that great. Maybe some people like a place where they can get croissants in bulk and get a lap dance all in one convenient location. Anonymous, listen carefully I want you to turn off your computer, walk away from it, and never look at it again. There is nothing on these "internets" for you, nothing at all.
nah, we're not mad. it just means us native new yorkers who live herecan have a few more years of peace and quiet before stuck up hipster suburbanite farmers pollute, overrun and ruin our neighborhood like they did the slope and the northside( that's what us native new yorkers call williamsburg/ greenpoint,by the way, to translate for all you stuck up hipster suburbanite farmers reading this).
@anon 9:43: v. good point. You better make sure that a farmer's market and/or food coop doesn't sprout up over there or you guys are DONE.
I doubt anyone is pissed, no. I'm very happy that CostCo is close to me. I could do without the lap dances and trucks, but it's 2nd/3rd Avenue, mainly.
Besides, I don't think too many Sunset Park residents take Metro too seriously, especially when it skips over to Costco and ignores everything else. Also, not too many people here would be surprised that CostCo, lap dances, and 18 wheelers like to hang out here. Cheap rents are disappearing quickly though.
Anonymous #1 is correct, however; the article is only referring to one block...and CostCo is the focus. Besides, the sub-title did offer that some people, like Mike L. perhaps, would want to live here because of the lap dances. Others might want to stay away. Nice that they gave us all a choice.
We do have a farmer's market...and it takes WIC and EBT. It's more about getting fresh produce than being hip, I'd think.
