100 Reasons To Be Happy In Park Slope

"Sometimes we need a reminder of why we should be happy. What if we had something like a Dewey Decimal System cataloguing every reason to smile?"

This comes from Tim Manley, who started illustrating different reasons to be happy on index cards back in 2008, just as a personal reminder. He's since created 100 Reasons To Be Happy, an art installation currently housed at Tea Lounge through the end of June. It's pretty simple: You write down a reason to be happy and put it in their card catalogue (which is then added to their online database). If you can't make it down to Tea Lounge (because lately it's been like, 100 degrees outside and you'll predictably combust on the way over) you can create your own card and email it to tim@rocketshipswithpaws.com.

Over 1,000 cards have been created so far. That's a lot of happy. My personal favorites are Dogs with underbites, Mommy's bangs and this one, which is just a drawing of a dick.

Have a happy weekend, Slopers!
