Who Gives a Shit: What's the Best Real Estate Agency in Park Slope?

Whenever the Powerball jackpot gets above $100 million, I buy a few tickets and begin to fantasize about how to spend it. Most people would blow a good chunk on housing, and I could see myself buying a brownstone or maybe a warehouse playspace near 4^th Ave. However, as a renter, I’d have no idea who to call. Realizing that I need to be prepared should I win that $100+ million tomorrow, I've taken to the Interwebs looking for the Slope's highest-ranked real estate agency.

Zillow.com has a realtor ratings service, but it’s poorly designed. When you do an agent search using Park Slope zip codes, it ends up listing agents from Staten Island, Little Neck and other non-local areas.  That’s not going to work when I got millions to blow. The second site in the Google results, RealEstateRatingz did allow me to search within a mile of a zip code, however they had very few realtors with any ratings, and no new ratings for anyone in Park Slope since 2010 (not a surprise coming from someone who spells "ratings" with a "z"). Truila has about 3,700 Brooklyn realtors in their database, but the rating system is scarcely used. So I went straight to Yelp.

Now Yelp is decent because it does have actual ratings, however they kind of lump everyone in real estate together.  For example, the top rated local guy is more of a broker, specializing in rentals.  So if you want to buy, you’ll want to go through each profile and determine their offerings.

And if you happen to win the Powerball jackpot instead of me, know that these days the average home in Park Slope is just over $800,000. With $100M in your pocket, that’s a drop in the bucket, so think about buying a few and donating them to FIPS writers (but whatever you do, don’t go the route of these winners).
