Who Gives A Shit: The Pros and Cons Of Living Above A Restaurant?

I've always wondered what it's like to live above a restaurant. The closest I've come is living directly below my landlord, who burned chicken every night and screamed at her kid like an angry short order cook. My friends Ed and Trevor live above a busy restaurant on 5th ave. I asked them what the pros and cons were of such a living situation. Here are their thoughts:

Trevor's Pros: Free food (once and a while), easy dinner solution, a place where everyone knows your name, great smells, occasional use of their ladder.

Trevor's Cons: I sometimes forget to eat anything else.

Ed's Pros: The biggest pro is that, if you're ever hungry, and it's at least 15 minutes before closing, it's super easy to run down and order takeout. The hastle of going out to get food goes away.

Ed's Cons: Because my bedroom is in the back of the building and shares a window with the restaurant's outdoor garden, I sometimes like to lie awake anbd listen to people talking and laughing over their meals, and I pretend they're MY friends.

Do any of you live above a restaurant? What are the ups and downs?
