United Methodist Church Book Sale...and Bedbugs?
So, one of my fave events of the year is coming up: The United Methodist Church Book Sale.
On Saturday February 26th and Sunday February 27th, the UMC, located on 6th Ave and 8th street will hold their annual killer book sale. And trust me: this thing is PHENOMENAL. It's crowded, and people are pushy, and you will be counting the moments until you get out of there; but also it's one of the most amazing book sales my ass has ever been to.
Here's what I got last year...and here's the year before.
They replenish the supplies all day, and there are mountains of high quality, interesting, CHEAP ASS books.
I look forward to this shit every year. And usually like to go both days, as the inventory changes so much from hour to hour.
They've been doing this shit for 18 years now, and this year they are even offering a $10 early admission session (from 8am to 9am on Sat the 26th). And it's brilliant! And I would TOTES do it! Except that I'm petrified...about you know whats. Especially after reading this article in the New Yorker.
I don't know what to do...cause I'm not sure I'm brave enough to take a chance with allllll of those books. From alllll of those strangers' houses.
Lame?
