There Goes the Neighborhood: Gowanus

Yes, after 40 years as an unofficial toxic waste dump, it's official! The Gowanus Canal has at last gotten the recognition it deserves: EPA superfundstatus.

Already, a few developers are apparently pulling up stakes, but do we really need any more ugly-ass white-shoed condos anyway?

Do you think they'll dredge up any cement-shoed bottom-dwellers? Will this put the kibosh on Gowanus as the next up-and-coming nabe? What do you think?
