The Nevins Street Hotspot

For those of you who regularly ride the 2/3 train, I KNOW you know what I'm talkin about: upon pulling into Nevins Street subway station, you have approx 30 seconds to 1 minute of a 4 bar, full throttle, bangin cell phone connection (at least with AT&T). It's like magic, right?
For those of you who don't know: a. get a clue; b. welcome to world of rogue subway communication.
This isn't like a real wi-fi hotspot, so you gotta be prepared if you wanna take advantage.
Some tips:
- Prepare your texts ahead of time. I mean, you should start thinking about this shit at Atlantic Ave just to be safe. Then you can draft your really imp text and just hit "send" as soon as all those service bars show up on your iphone.
- Samesies for your emails...if you need to send one quickly, that shit better be ready to send the second you roll into the station.
- You don't really have enough time to make a phonecall, though you can try in a pinch. DO NOT CALL YOUR MOTHER...it will be physically impossible to finish a phone conversation with her during your hotspot window.
- At most, you'll have time to send a quick text and check your email. Or send a quick tweet and update your Twitter stream. Don't plan on downloading an ep of How I Met Your Mother or some shit...it ain't gonna work.
- The x-factor, however, is if you are switching from the 2/3 to the 4/5. In that case, you might be chillin on the platform for awhile, so your options will open way the hell up. You can check-in on Foursquare, take some Instagram pics or catch a quick vid on youporn. The world is your oyster.
I love you, Nevins Street.
Where are your fave underground subway cell phone hotspots?
