Paul McCartney is coming to Barclays
Our beloved Borough President, Marty Markowitz, practically jizzed in his pants while announcing that Paul McCartney would be hitting the Barclays on his tour this summer. As reported by Newsday:
Speaking to reporters, Markowitz referred to the lawn above the Atlantic Avenue subway station as "Strawberry Fields," and proclaimed that the arterial "will hereby be known as Abbey Road."
"It's been a 'Long and Winding Road' and never 'In My Life' would I have guessed that my favorite knight would be leaving the queen to come to the glorious county of Kings -- so let's all 'Come Together' and celebrate," he said in a statement.
A Markowitz spokesman later clarified that the renaming was just for Thursday, officially known as "Paul McCartney Day" in Brooklyn.
Oh, Marty, you are so clever!
