Park Slope Signage: Is this your dog's shit?
The war against pet excrement in the streets of Park Slope continues. The above sign, found on 1st street near 8th avenue by FiPS reader Katie, just goes to show how far someone will go to be heard. A note without the bag of shit tied to the tree would have worked fine, but this is meant to shock and mystify. This is the Lady Gaga of Park Slope signage.
I pass signs all the time while walking around the neighborhood: "Don't put flyers here," "Double parking is for douche bags," etc..., but I don't always notice them. This is because they're not fastened to nature with a hot bag of feces. That's where this sign succeeds. Though there is one puzzling aspect. "It always seems to have come from the same dog," the sign reads. This I find interesting. Has the poo collector studied the nuances of the fecal matter? Has he or she stuck a gloved fist into the small pile, like Laura Dern did in Jurrassic Park?
But seriously, pet owner. Clean the fuck up after yourself. We don't pay taxes for a dog shit lost-and-found department in this neighborhood.
