One Of Our FAVE FIPS Readers Is Having A Birthday Bar Crawl [FUN!]

When I first moved to Park Slope, my friends who already lived in the area took me on a bar crawl. By the end of the night, i had sampled about 6 or 7 of the bars on 5th avenue. It was a perfect introduction to the hood. So a few months later, when my birthday rolled around and i couldn't decide on a bar to go to, I decided to go to all of them. And since I didn't know that many people outside the group of people I grew up with, worked with, and went to college with, I ordered everyone to bring their friends, and to advertise this party as if it were a party of their own. Next thing i knew, i had 63 people in my apartment (only 15 of us lived in Park Slope).

That night was crazy fun -- and by the end of it, a whole group of New Yorkers who had never been to the nabe were raving about Park Slope. Some of them ended up moving to Park Slope soon after the crawl. "I thought this place was all baby carriages and douchebags," said my friend Ariel, "turns out, Park Slope has a rockin' bar scene. i'm in!" so the next year, we did it again. This time 78 people showed.

And now, we're doing it for a third time....and everyone is invited!
