In case you've been elbow-deep in building your Go-Packs and watching Hurricane Irene from space, here's a quick wrap-up of juicy FiPS news that graced the pages of our blog this week:
* Dreams of a Greenwood Heights Beer Garden Are Still Alive: RUMORS ARE STILL circling that the lot at 555 7th Avenue between 19th and 20th Streets will be a fancy beer garden with fire pits(!) and landscaping.
* BK Mosquitos Got The West Nile: For those of you thought that perhaps "bird" was the word, you are sorely mistaken. It's actually "mosquito." Our borough is the recipient of a nice, steamy serving of potentially brain-damaging West Nile!
* Breaking: Um, we just had an earthquake: Remember when that happened?
* Fios is coming to Park Slope!: Is Fios marching into Time Warner territory and setting up shop in the Slope? Sounds like it!
* Zito's Sandwich Shoppe = Open!: FiPS contributor Ninedaves says of the new joint, "I need that eggplant parm in my life every day. there goes my diet."
* FiPS was There... The Food Truck Vs. Brick and Mortar Debate!: Food Trucks and Restaurants: Can't We All Just Get Along? This panel was a juicy one.
