Did That Really Happen? Weird Encounter of a Slope Kind.

The other day, I was walking down Plaza Street, and I noticed an older man walking toward me carrying a giant roll of bubble wrap. That's not the weird part. As the man and I were about to pass each other, I heard a male voice behind me loudly and excitedly say, "Hey, can I pop just one? Please?" Bubble wrap man clutched his bubble wrap, scooched away from this guy and started walking faster up the street. I turned and saw that it was a thirty-ish hipster-y dude who'd made the unusual request. He saw me looking, smiled, and said, "I just love that stuff, don't you?" Um. Yeah. Sure. Are you seeing anybody?

You see a lot of weird stuff on the streets of New York, but that one ranks pretty high up there for me. What's the strangest encounter you've had out there lately?
