CRAZY ACCIDENT ON UNION STREET
Apparently around 3:30pm on Friday, some cray cray shit went down on Union Street. FIPS reader Andrew sent us the following dispatch:
"I just wanted to let you guys know about an accident that I witnessed on the way home from the Brooklyn Public Library. The white SUV (driver was BPL security guard/officer) was travelling west on Union (towards 8th Ave) when it suddenly (and for no real reason) swerved to the right, both hitting the Eastern Cab (blue car) stopped in front of it AND driving up onto that brown parked car. I did manage to capture a bit of the NYPD arresting the BPL security guard after he attacked a first responder (believe it was a firefighter)."
Ok, so some guy was driving down Union and then all the sudden he hit one car and then DROVE ON TOP OF ANOTHER CAR!? Then the dude gets arrested after attacking a firefighter?
Andrew wasn't sure why the guy attacked the firefighter, though he did manage to shoot some video of the guy getting arrested (sorry that it's oriented the wrong way, but I'm retarded and don't know how to fix that).
We didn't hear reports that anyone was hurt (but that's uncomfirmed).
And as of this eve, that poor smashed car that the white SUV tried to mount was still sitting there on Union Street. Here are some more pics:
