Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind didn't know blackface was offensive.

Brooklyn Assemblyman, Dov Hikind, invited the community to his annual Purim party in his home, where he painted his face a dark brown, donned an afro wig and claimed he was, you know, "a black basketball player." Oy.
As reported in the New York Times:
The main objective that I have is not to be recognizable,” Mr. Hikind said in an interview. “Of course the intention was not to offend anyone. That’s the last thing that I ever imagined that would happen, to be very honest. It never crossed my mind.
What kind of idiot do you have to be to not know that blackface is completely offensive? Hikind spent most of Monday defending his moronic behavior, claiming that the universal negative reactions were "political correctness to the absurd," and trying to further weasel out of any responsibility by pointing out that his wife dressed as a devil and she's not actually a devil. Right. Because dressing up as the devil is exactly the same thing. After a full day of claiming everyone was just being too sensitive, he finally faux-pologized with one of those "I'm sorry people were offended" bullshit apologies. But, luckily, he seems to have learned his lesson:
Next year I was thinking I’d be an Indian. But you know, I’ve changed my mind about that. I don’t think that’s a good idea. Somebody will be offended.

I'm going to his Purim party next year as a holocaust survivor. You know, skeleton t-shirt, arm tattoos. What? That's offensive?
